This is a followup to the previous video where we looked at using Thermionik plugins instead of a tube preamp, but running through a Peavey Windsor 120W EL34 power amp (using the FX return to bypass the preamp), and a Zilla Fatboy 2×12 with an SM57 and a 421 on Vintage 30s.
Here, we’ve turned the poweramp section back on in the Thermionik plugins, and used Two Notes Torpedo Wall Of Sound plugin for cabinet emulation. The cab that sounded most like the Zilla was the Brit VintC – and the mics used were in the same positions as on the real cabinet. No EQ was used on either source.
