Today we're looking at upgrading the silent studio PC (yes, silent, not really quiet, completely 0dB) in terms of graphics.
Do graphics affect audio performance? We thought not, but it turns out with the live streaming that we do, the Quadro NVS450 wasn't powerful enough – and also if we so much as opened a single Chrome window whilst tracking audio we could hear dropouts (we run really low latencies like 2ms, so it's quite possible for the system to be a bit delicate).
We upgraded to the Geforce 1050 Ti KalmX from Palit (the one with the passive heatsink, so no noise at all) – see how that went!
